| Just got back from 2 weeks of camping. We spent 5 days in Fletcher, NC at a very nice campground with my SMART club. Then traveled 40 miles east to Lucky Strike Gold Mine to pan for gold and gems. We had a great time there both panning and sitting on the old country porch and talking. I spent one day digging on the gold club's land and moved 14 5-gallon buckets of dirt and rock from the ground to the truck to the creek to pan. You think I was sore the next day? Did not find any gold that day. Bummer. I did find gold while panning in the trough and brought some dirt home to pan while relaxing on the front porch. We are going to Ft Fisher, NC the end of Sept for 2 weeks and visit with Jenkie and Regina. Then back to pan for gold in mid to late October. Nothing like having a camper and traveling.
