Clyde Bruce Lupton, 72, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016. Mr. Lupton was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph S. and Victoria Robinson Lupton; three sisters, LaVerne L. Gomez, LaDelle L. Hershey and Pauline L. Nichols.Mr. Lupton was a 1962 graduate of Martinsville High School; earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Busiand ness Administration, Cum Laude from Patrick Henry Community College in 1974 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Averett University in 1979. He was a member of the Alpha Chi National Scholastic Honor Society at Averett.Bruce was a past master of Cave Spring Masonic Lodge #230 AF & AM of Roanoke serving in 2013. He was serving as the District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 22A in 2015 to 2016. He was a member of the Murray Royal Arch Chapter #22 of the York Rite, both Hillcrest and Etta Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason invested as a Knight Commander Court of Honor in 2011. Bruce was a member of the Kazim Shrine Center in Roanoke and served as President of the Roanoke Valley Shrine Club in 2013. He was a past member of the Kazim Shrine Band and a current member of the Kazim Directors Staff.Bruce was a past member of the Roanoke Valley Community Band, the Northwest Jazz Band and the Stardusters Band and served as a substitute in the "Let's Dance Band" where he played alto, tenor and baritone saxophone.He served on his high school's 45th and 50th class reunions. After serving four years in the United States Air Force, Mr. Lupton worked 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as the Postmaster in Collinsville, Va. He enjoyed his family, golfing, fishing, music and reading. In 2008, Mr. Lupton won a car with the 2nd of his four holes-in-one. In fishing, he was awarded a Masters Award for catching citation fish in five different categories.He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith Merriman Lupton; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Brian and Mimi Lupton of Leesburg; son, Bradley Scott Lupton of Eatonton, Ga.; and daughter, Jennifer Leigh Lupton of Manassas. Also surviving is a grandson, Brian Alexander Lupton of Leesburg; a granddaughter, Katherine Leigh Ransome of Manassas; and a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph S. Lupton Jr. and Levona Newberry Lupton of Smithfield.Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Oakey's South Chapel with Pastor Liz Lazenby officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, Va., with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Masonic Home of Virginia-Outreach Program in Henrico, Va., or to the Kazim Shriners Transportation Fund.
