Re: Since when do we have earthquakes in VA?
Yeah, what's up with that? 28 miles west of RIC, right near my old stomping grounds of Midlo. And I always thought I'd have a place to run to in VA when things got too hairy in LA.

Re: Since when do we have earthquakes in VA?
Who would have thought VA would get hit with a 4.5 quake!!! What an experience....

Re: Since when do we have earthquakes in VA?
So, you had one, then we had one out here in CA.

Iran
The one in Iran was hardly stronger than yours in CA -

Re: Since when do we have earthquakes in VA?
Yeah, as I understand it, the Richter scale is logarithmic, so the one out here in CA was roughly twice as "strong" even though the Iranian one was like 6.5 and the Cali was like 6.7 or something (they were only separated by 2 tenths, I think.) They sound close in strength, but really they're not. We're all thankful that the CA one was out in the proverbial boonies. Or, BFE, I think we used to call it.

And I thought I'd never use that stuff from math class....

Re: Since when do we have earthquakes in VA?
I think there was a band called Logarhythm once. And if there wasn't, there should have been....

Re: Since when do we have earthquakes in VA?
Hey,
We have them here all the time. Kinda fun when they are small. You should see my kids faces or my animals when we have one. It is too funny. Not saying that they are funny at all.
