Barry E. Hairston
Died Monday, April 28, 2008
Apr 1, 2008

The funeral for Barry E. Hairston, 40, of 1590 Grandview Road, Martinsville, who died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Refuge Temple Ministries. Elder Alan Preston will officiate. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church for a half-hour before the service Thursday and other times at the home on Grandview Road.

Hairston was born in Martinsville on Sept. 8, 1967, to Leon Hairston and Mattie B. Belcher Hairston of Martinsville.

He attended Martinsville High School and was working for Tracy’s Landscaping. He was a member of Refuge Temple Ministries.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a son, Rasheed D. Hairston of Rocky Mount; five brothers, Michael O. Hairston of Triangle, Lemuel M. Hairston and Kenneth C. Hairston, both of Martinsville, Anthony L. Hairston of Gainesville, and Jeffery W. Hairston of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Candis R. Hairston of Martinsville and Tiffany L. Hairston of Charlotte, N.C.; and his wife, Melissa Gilbert Hairston.

Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
