2009 reunion - 16
07/17/07     Dawn  (1969)      dshank51@msn.com
I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but I know since I've got all the addresses, etc from our last reunion, I'll probably work on the next one. So...I'm starting now. If you've changed your address, name, email since our 35th reunion, start letting me know now.
Also, I'd like to know any opinions on doing a reunion for the Class of 69 someplace besides Martinsville....I'd like to hear if there's any interest in booking a 3-day cruise somewhere or getting together at Myrtle Beach. Now that some of us are retiring, empty nesters or freer to travel (translate OLD), it might be a lot of fun. If there's interest, I'll check out dates, prices and possibilities.
If you have an opinion, also let me know the time of year you'd favor.
We can still do the usual reunion thing in Martinsville, but this might be fun (and we'd need to start planning it now.)

Count me in-I am still teaching math at Salem HS in Salem Va.--2009 may be the year I retire--if it is still as much fun as it is now I may go to 2017 to make it an even 50 years--would love to hear from some of the old gang--take care God Bless George May

Re: 2009 reunion
I'm in Martinsville at least once a month to see my Mom so a change would be fun. Myrtle Beach was where we all seemed to go "back in the day." Summer's an expensive time at the beach, and hotels aren't easy to work with when they don't need you. I've learned that dealing with state and national twins club conventions. I'm all for whatever you can work out, and I'd be happy to help.

Re: 2009 reunion
Dawn -- I would love for everyone to meet at the beach. It would be better to do so after September 1 and before Memorial Day to get the best rates and the best temps. The main drag really looks a little sad since they took down the Pavillion and the amusement park. Really does not look the same. It would be best to go further down the beach or North Myrtle. But the cruise would be fun too. There are several that leave from Charleston. Let me know what you need. I am always available to help. Love to all.

Re: 2009 reunion
A less exotic trip to consider might be to Pigeon Forge in the fall - always a good time with the entertainment, and I know you could get a great deal on a block of rooms. Something there for everybody to enjoy, and of course the drive through the Smokies is second to none.

Re: 2009 reunion
It saddens me to read the replies here. Don't know how many of you know that George May passed away. He really loved our class. The Bulldogglers should dedicate their Bulldoggle to his memory this year.
