Enjoyed Reunion so Far - 15
05/06/06     Phillip M. Jones  (1968)      pjones1@kimbanet.com
Despite my being born on the wrong side of town. I've actually enjoyed the reunion so far.

I was the funny kid that carried all his books around for fear of being late to a class. Also my being from the northiside and from a poor family. MOstly I got laughed at or most when passing if they were not talking to people in their cliques had their noses in the air when passing by me.

I was surprised, at how many of the men and women last night at the Bowling Alley, and today at the picnic actually took the time to talk to me. I know I bound to be boring, but, if I was no one showed it. This thrilled me no end. I will be at the thing at Forest Park and hope to have as good a time.

Re: Enjoyed Reunion so Far
Follow up to post. Went to get together at Forest Park. I enjoyed. Had right many folks talk to me. Of course most were world traveled, and had the good life. (Which made me sad in away, knowing Most had great accomplishments, and myself not being able to accomplish anything. Almost made me ashamed to be such company.) I was rather boring, and had little to talk about other than the reasons for my being disabled.

Re: Enjoyed Reunion so Far
Phillip, I am very glad you attended "OUR" class reunion. You know, I was from Southside and I too am not world traveled, but I enjoy my life here in Martinsville and I enjoyed working with Will and Beth on the reunion. I am glad you had a good time. Will be looking forward to seeing you at the next reunion in two years! Would love for you to help us get it going!
Keep in touch.

Re: Enjoyed Reunion so Far
Hello Molly.

being disabled I don't know what I could do to help.

As you can see from my post and replies, english was not my best subject. And I use the hunt-peck method of typing. Back in the 60's people though men that took typing were "funny". I gravited toward Industrial Arts That lead me to my short career in Electronics.

I do keep up a website for an Association I belong to. And I currently serve as Treasurer for the same Organization. http://www.vpea.org .

If however; there was something I could do I might consider it. Though I feel there are others far more qualified.

Re: Enjoyed Reunion so Far
Phillip,

We are all so glad that you came to OUR reunion! I think we all had a grand time and caught up on everything from our aches & pains to our children & grandchildren - but mostly we just talked about the "good old days". It was wonderful to see everyone again - I think our talks and the way we interact with every member of our class is a reflection of the wonderful people we have all become. Long live the class of '68!!

I hope to see everyone again in 2008 - we will have to get busy working on that one right now! I had so much fun helping Will & Molly with this one that I can't wait to get started on the 40th!

Hugs to everyone,

Beth

Re: Enjoyed Reunion so Far
Phillip, it was a treat to see you again! I am so glad that you came and you WERE NOT BORING! You amaze me that you handle your disability so well. Take care of yourself and please come back to OUR class reunion in two years. It doesn't matter where any of us live, how much money we have or if we are well traveled.........it is the caring manner in which we interact with one another that makes life worth living. Hope to see you soon!

Yes I was. Although I wasn't noticed much. I lived on the wrong side of town. :-(. But I was proud of my tenure at Mavahi.
