Hi Folks,
Does anyone know whatever happened to Mr. Proctor? He taught Modern World
History. I know I had him my sophomore year. I had heard a rumor that he
was leaving Martinsville and heading for New York. Does anyone know if that
is true? He was probably one of the most influential teachers I ever had and
still remember him very fondly, lo these many years later. If anyone knows
how to reach him, I would appreciate the information - I think any teacher
that had a positive affect on us needs to know it and be thanked for it. |

Re: George Proctor |
With the help of Mrs. Betty Crotty at MHS I was able to locate Mr. Proctor in March of 2001. He left Martinsville in 1968 and moved to upstate NY where he taught for 25 years. Several years ago he moved back to his hometown of Adalusia, AL to take care of his parents. His mother died a couple of years ago and his father is in bad health. I had a wonderful conversation with him by phone and he seemed delighted that I had called. He hates computers but loves to write letters especially to former students. His address is: Mr. George Proctor

I still have fond memory of the time someone stretched a pair of women's panties across the steering wheel of Mr Proctor's car. Made for good entertainment while out at the old smoking tree. |
