Obituary for Jody Brody Lewis - 14
02/23/23     Judi Whelan  (1967)      richmond_judi@hotmail.com

Josephine "Jody” Brodie Lewis, born December 5, 1948, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2023. She is survived by her husband John E. Lewis of Warsaw, Virginia and their two sons, Jonathan, his wife Jenna W. Lewis, and their children, Layla, and Jaxon; and Josh, his wife Jenna H. Lewis, and their children, Aiden, Madison, Emmy, and Ellie.

Originally from Martinsville, Virginia, Jody graduated from VCU in Sociology, then married John and they moved to Warsaw. She worked in Social Services for six years, then left the workforce for ten years to focus on raising their sons. When she returned to the workforce, she was appointed Magistrate in the Northern Neck area, where she was well-loved by all the law enforcement and judiciary personnel.

Jody was a member of the local Red Hat Ladies group, played in the local Bridge Club, and was on the Friends of the Library board. She had a reputation for being one of the sweetest and most good-hearted people around. Her high school friends from Martinsville attest to the fact that there was only one "Jody Brodie”.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Warsaw Baptist Church with Rev. Leslie Park officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Warsaw Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
