Ole Dawgs of Cleveland Ave. Reunite Oct. 6-7, 2006 - 11
06/21/06     Ann Browne Gardner  (1964)      anndink@yahoo.com
Hey! Y'all! Since January, a group of us from various classes from the good ole days at Mavahi have been meeting and planning the festivities for the 5th "Ole Dawgs of Cleveland Avenue", which is scheduled for the weekend of October 6th-7th! We are going to be celebrating Sports from our high school years regardless of the year through 1968. We hope to have coaches and players of all teams during those years. Husky Hall and J.B. Heldreth are both here in Martinsville, and I am sure they will be eager to see any and all whom they coached or just remember from their phys. ed. teaching days. We have had great fun at the past four get-togethers, and we are always trying to get more classmates to come and celebrate the "glory days" with us. The cost is $12 per person for the Saturday Buffet luncheon which is catered by MHS alumnus, Titus Sparks Class of '55. Many of us meet and sit together at the MHS home football game, Friday night, at Dan Greene Stadium at the "new" MHS, buy our own tickets and then continue partying and socializing at Rania's Restaurant, located on Main St. where Mitchell-Howell Ford used to be (behind First Methodist Church). Then on Saturday at 11 AM we meet in the cafeteria of our alma mater, which has been re-decorated, and see classmates from our class as well as from the years before. Jinky (Cross)Critz will take us on a tour of the building which has slightly reconfigured and redecorated. But the Band room is the same as is the "Pit". This tour really brings back memories as much of our MHS is still the same. We are the 4th from the youngest class there! Saturday night, those who want to continue visiting get together for a Sock-Hop and Pizza back at the cafeteria. Our class can get together and go to Forest Park to eat dinner and just sit and tell stories, which is great fun. Please plan to come to the "Ole Dawgs of Cleveland Avenue" weekend this year. If you don't have a form to fill out, just email me your mailing address and I will send you one with all the information.
Hope to see you all there! Much love to you all, Ann Carter and Dink Gardner
