08/31/01     Ann Carter & Dink Gardner  (1964)      agardner1@martinsville.k12.va.
It's so great to read the messages from everyone--
Jean and Jennifer are heading up the next reunion for June, 2002.
Please look for a mailing from them soon regarding this.
Yeah, yeah, I know it is 38 years instead of 40, but HEY!
We did things our way at MHS so what else is new?
Love you all: hope to hear from you soon!
Dink is great and about to retire! I, however, am still teaching at MHS.

Hey, Ann Carter and Dick
Hope y'all are doing well and having a great summer!
It's so much fun having this website to keep in touch
with everyone. Dink, congratulations on reaching
retirement eligibility. I'm there too but will work a
while longer. There is, indeed, life after 55, isn't it!!!

Re: write me!
Hi, Cartee and Dink! What a pleasant surprise to see your message-I cannot possibly believe that Dink will be retiring soon! 39 seems a little young for that, I think. Please let me know what you and your girls have been up to since last I saw you. I well remember your radio debut from the Fieldale sock hop and look forward to an encore at the next class reunion! Anne

Re: write me!
Just wanted to say I wish Dink the best of luck on his retiring. It doesn't seen like we are old enough to retire. Linda Hooper Smith

Hi! It's so hard to believe it has been 38 years! I will look forward to seeing you both soon.
As for retirement, I think I will have to wait for the stock market to go back up and who knows when that will be!
Douglas

Re: write me!
Dear Miss Ann and Dink,
Thanks so much for your nice note. Tell Dink that I still have the corsage he gave me for Edith Crosby's dance pressed in my scrap book. We did have such a good time in those days! Naturally, I think of all of you often and still smile at some of the things that we did, and know that if we were all together again Martinsville would be a much livlier place. What lucky things you are to have so many grandchildren- I'm quite jealous as I don't have any but am steadfastly maintaining hope. I'm so looking forward to seeing everybody again for the reunion and hope that you and your family stay well. Much love, Anne

Re: write me!
Hi Ann & Dink, so good to hear from you. I tried the school e-mail and it was returned.
Seems like lots of exciting things going on in your life now. So Dink, is it on the the next career or lots of flights to London?!
Ann, let me know the dates of the play in March and I will try to come. Have always wanted to see one of your productions.
Take care and much love Carole
