Martinsville Bound - 11
10/27/08     Jerry Poff  (1964)      jdpoff@charter.net
Hello,Everyone! My wife and I will be in Martinsville the weekend of Nov.1 for a family get together. My brother Ron is retired from Flowers Industries, Bonnie is retired from West Window and Patricia is retired from teaching. I'm hoping Ron has a golf outing scheduled at Forrest Park. On a previous visit there, I saw Husky Hall.
I enjoy reading all of the posts. High School memories are still filed away....and ,suprisingly, still fairly sharp. Jerry

Re: Martinsville Bound
Dadgumit. I wish I was free this weekend to drop down from Roanoke and hit the little white ball with you guys. However, I'm tied up with some Shrine work at the temple on Saturday. If you guys play on Sunday, drop me an email at Clydelupton@yahoo.com..... Thanks. Bruce

Re: Martinsville Bound
Hey, Bruce. How great that would be!!!! As is our custom, we will hit the road back to Georgia early Sunday AM. I am definitely going to remember to call you next time. Thanks so much for responding with such an excellent suggestion. I read other messages that you post and enjoy them all. Keep writing. Jerry

Re: Martinsville Bound
I'll just add to my message by saying we had a great time in Martinsville. We usually travel up I-85, but this time we went thru N.Georgia to North Carolina where we hit I-40 and went east. This took us by Ashville.....from beginning to end, the scenery was beautiful.
I am always impressed how neat and clean everything looks in the city of Martinsville. Those who live there think it is run down, but that is not the impression I get when I visit.
The election is over--let's hope for the best for our country. Hope all is well. Jerry
