07/05/07     Melvin Smith  (1963)      melvinsmit@msn.com
Condolences to the family of Harold Eugene "Peanut" Edwards. Peanut died July 3, 2007 of heart problems. The obituary is in the "Martinsville Bulletin" July 5, 2007. You can find it on line at martinsvillebulletin.com. May our friend and buddy rest in peace.

Re: Passing of Harold
I am so sorry to hear about Peanut. We were very good friends in High school but I lost contact and did not know where he lived. I pass his old home on Corn Tassel when I visit my daughter and have often wondered if his family was still there. I should have stopped to see.
For each person I knew well, one little memory seems to stand out above the others. For Peanut, it was him in a play in the fourth grade at Joseph Martin. He sang a solo: "How Much is that Doggie in the Window". I would like to add my condolences to his family still living.
