1963 50th Reunion - 10
05/05/12     Edward Moore  (1963)      edwgmoore@aol.com
Darlene, I am all for a 50th reunion for the class of 63. I am less enthusiastic because just a year or so ago, Jim Steagall was very critical of our class....and indicated his preference for his wife's class. He is hypocrite, but I still am supportive of a 50th reunion for those of us who are proud to part of the Class of 63

Re: 1963 50th Reunion
Hi Edward,
I enjoyed seeing you and your better half at the Old Dogs reunion in 2010, I sure hope you both can make the trip from Texas in 2013 for the 50th. Some classes are choosing to have their reunions connecting to the Old Dogs event. I don't have a preference, I'll do whatever Darlene or someone assigns me to do. I recall for the 20th, Ann Lackey and Christine Ponton were leaders. Maybe they will help this time too.

Re: 1963 50th Reunion
Brother Ed:

I'm down in Nashville celebrating my 45th wedding anniversary with my beautiful bride, Myra (Thrasher) Stegall. (Class of '65.)

I was having a good time until I clicked into your comments on the Class of '63 message board.

Don't know what you're doing for a living, but sure hope it ain't along the lines of communications. If I had made that choice of words as a bureau chief for The Toledo Blade, "One of America's Great Newspapers," I'd still be writing obituaries.

Take another look, even going to the dictionary if necessary, at your words -- critical and hypocrite.
Then review my comments again.

Nothing critical and hypocritical there.
Record speaks for itself. Class of '63 --
3 reunions, Class of '65 -- 9 reunions.

Lot of good people in the class of '63 just the same. Can I count you among them?

Peace, Brother!

Jim

Re: 1963 50th Reunion
Gentlemen: It's great to hear that both of you are supportive of a 50th class reunion for the class of 1963 -- Hooray. (No more critical comments -- we were all friends then and now.)
I didn't know who organized the last big reunion for our class because I didn't hear about it until it was over and I was never able to attend the annual reunions every year in October because they were always the same weekend we had birthday parties for one of my children. But enough of my pater. I'm just excited that we're getting some interest. Ann Mattox and Christine Ponton, can you help out because of your experience last time? I live in Richmond, so I can't be an on-site person, but I'll be happy to make a few trips to the old stomping grounds as needed or participate in telephone conferences or web meetings. Just be forewarned that I am not in the best of health for a 66 (almost 67) year old (Parkinson's Disease), but I'm still managing fairly well and don't have the obvious tremors yet. I would love for our class to get together so I can see everyone while I can still shake a leg! It would be great if Ann and Christine and others could join Jim, Ed, Greg Norton and others in supporting a reunion. Marvin, you've done lots for the class -- how bout it? And there are many others, I'm sure, who have been big supporters of our reunions in the past. Let's hear from you! Life is too short to miss out on opportunities.
