The Elk are Back! - 10
11/23/11     Greg Norton  (1963)      sgnorton@hotmail.com
Judi and I got up Tuesday morn (it is still dark here at 06:30 AM) and there next to our window is an 800 pound elk grazing in the yard - seems the herd spent the night in some uncut grass in the back of the lot - 24 elk that we could count. The cats did not know what to think with them so close.

WOW, Greg! Wish I could have seen that. My sister and I were coming back last night from Thanksgiving dinner at our nephew's house in the Chatmoss area....and we thought we had really seen something when SIX ordinary deer ran across the road in front of us near the country club. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Judi.

Re: The Elk are Back!
Hi Ester - I think seeing six deer is very special - it is not everday we have an opportunity to be close wild animals of any kind. Judi and I just happen to live close to one of the great remaining wilderness areas in the US here on the Olympic Peninsula and may have more opportunities,
