Albert Eccles passed - 18

Albert Samuel Eccles Sr., 55, of 108 Pasadena Knoll, Martinsville, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.

He was born July 22, 1954, in Martinsville to Arnette Eccles Sr. and Mary Jamison Eccles of Martinsville. He was preceded in death by his father.

He owned Eccles Appliance Repair for 27 years and was a member of the NAACP and Piedmont Estate Neighborhood Watch. He also was a member of Mt. Olive East Christian Church (DOC) where he was church musician and a member of the CMF.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Frances Smith Eccles of the home; a daughter, Lisa E. Millner of Ridgeway; a son, Albert Eccles Jr. of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Arnette Eccles Jr. of New Jersey and Johnnie Eccles of Martinsville; three sisters, Sandra E. Wesley and Willis “Genie� Jones, both of Martinsville, and Ginger E. Rouse of Eden, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pentecostal Assembly Building with the Rev. Kenneth Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive East Christian Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the funeral and other times at the home.
