Reunion's coming! - 11
09/20/01     Jean Branham Reid  (1964)      jeanreid@home.com
Hi,I was so pleased to find this site and to read about everyone. The last few weeks have been so dismal that it's an escape to think back about our wonderful times together.
Jennifer Hill and I thought Cartie and Dink had planned, hosted, and delivered the reunion for long enough, so we offered to take over the work for the next one. We didn't want to wait until 2004 so, it's coming next summer, June 21-23, 2002. Mark your calendars now. We have a letter to send out to all of our classmates, but we are still tracking down a few addresses. Jennifer has the data base right now, (we are going to have our own website but hope someone will help us figure out how to link to this site), but when I get it back, I will post the names of those folks we can't seem to locate. Stay tuned and plan to be there! Help us figure out what the weekend will include. We are hoping someone local will offer to host the Friday night get together. The cost would be included in the weekend total. We would love any suggestions.

I just retired from the Alexandria school system after teaching 33 years, and I am doing consultant work. I think I can get the hang of this retirement gig! My husband, CJ, thinks this might mean he will always have to work and neverget to retire. It probably doesn't help that I now refer to him as my
"cash cow." Our children are healthy and happy. Our sons live here in Alexandria, and Bee is a sophomore at Radford.
I can't wait to hear from everyone.

Take care.
Jean

Re: Reunion's coming!
SO!!! Finally we all hear from the elusive Jean (and Jennifer, by proxy) with the class reunion plans that everyone has been reading about. I loved seeing your name at the top of the page and hearing that you and your family (including Cash Cow) are doing so well and look forward to seeing you again. I am offering my services with bulletin board decoration and mouse ear manufacturing and know that you are as glad as I am that we are all - finally - MATURE! Anne

Re: Reunion's coming!
Jean, Your phone call the other night was wonderful. You and Jennifer are doing a great
job! I saw Jinky the day you called and she wants to help; she is just so busy with her
daughter and sister not to mention being the secretary at Martinsville Middle School,
that she hasn't answered your message from way back in September. Anyway, she
looks really well and is as cheerful as can be. I am working on the addresses for you
all and I hope to have most, if not all, of them by Monday or Tuesday. I am so glad you
finally got on this web page and I hope you receive lots of responses.
Love, Cartie

Re: Reunion's coming!
Jean, I am so glad you posted your note! Now we can all get some
dialog going about the reunion and who knows what great ideas may be
presented here!! I'll be talking with you soon! Judy
